Web Design Inspiration Curated

heirsearch.com

Submitted by Dan Hoy, here's what he had to say: I think the design does a good job of meeting the overall needs of the client- professional image, user-focused navigation etc. good use of technologies (Jquery) ie: http://heirsearch.co (cycle plugin)...

tjphweb.com

Submitted by Thomas Henocque, here's what he had to say: TJPH is a freelance web designer and web developer based in Montreal, Canada. Services include graphic design, programming, logo, identity, SEO, consultin Nice looking design, the fence idea is clever and makes...

GZ Design

Nice looking, very agency looking, website design. The dark background and other background imagery are just "pixel-perfect" and nice to look at. This is a straight-up simple design agency looking website but there's something about doing something simple and straight...

howdoyoulinux.com

Howdoyoulinux.com is a contest microsite where Linux users can submit videos for a chance to win prizes, for what looks like Novell. This is basically a glorified "single page" layout, that uses javascript to roll you up to the page anchor of the content in focus. It...

kuhboom.com

Nice site design by Neil Wills @kuhboom, The website doesn't have all that much depth, it's basically a portfolio site, but it's really nice looking. The background images are well done, the coloring is great. I do like the very large logo, clients always ask for that...

osvaldas.info

Website by Osvaldas Valutis @osvaldas. Experienced freelancer web designer and developer from Lithuania - www.osvaldas.info / web, design, development, lithuanian, freelance. I'm not entirely sure if this site passes my "no splash-page" rule, but i'm going to let it...

WebKitBits

Nice clean site design by David Kaneda (@davidkaneda). Not much here other than a very clean & nice looking tumblr site. The site says it's "A tumblog about the browser engine built into Safari, Chrome, iPhone, Palm Pre, and Android." Very cool.

iabide.com

Nice photo blog. I like the dark background feeling but the vivid pictures just make it shine.

balhar.com

Very interesting website by Martin Balhar. Another heavy javascript "flash-like" website. It's mostly javascript, but it seems fairly easy to understand how to get around in. Maybe it's the fact that the site does only one thing mainly that makes it successful instead...

styledbyakhil.com

Pretty nice single page layout portfolio site. I like the background image, it's pretty interesting, smart move making it static like that too.

johanndizon.com

This is a really interesting looking website. The dark color, and all the design elements in a single line style. It looks like some sort of blueprint. Just lots of subtle work, like the right-side navigation roll-over effect. It's nice.

incg.nl

This is a really great looking site design, nice coloring, nice typography. It "feels" really finished. The very top header section is confusing and seems sort of out of place, with the star rating icons that don't really do anything, the red does look good up there...

corvusart.com

I really like the attention to detail in the background header. The footer area is also very nice.

searchfreefonts.com

This site is so freaking huge in scope, fonts seem pretty niche until you know a little something about fonts. I think this site is really effective because it serves up what I want in a font site, lists of categories and font styles and links to resources on fonts....

chrisbewick.com

Submitted by Chris Bewick: @stompfrog This is a great blog about design and Chris Bewick's experience doing what he does. It's also well designed and really fun to look at. The header is very interesting with that large horizontal shape, it really focuses my eye there...

ideafoundry.info

Submitted by @bryckbost I think this is a great simple, single purpose website. The site is really well done, from top to bottom, great colors, typography. The idea is also brilliant.

redcrownstudio.com

Another single-page style website that scrolls vertically, this is a fairly nice looking design. I particularly like the "about" section. The form simply needs to be fixed up but outside of that this site does its job well.

creativehappy.com

I really like this website design, it combines simple with something neat. The simple design aesthetic is always nice, but the static "sticking" navigation is nicely placed with this site design. We covered this in another post about static "sticking" navigation.

inkd.com

There's a lot of stuff going on with this site design, the thing I like most is the tab style navigation work they've done here. It's pretty much a best-practice type design for tab/drop-down navigation.

madfrogdesigns.com

This site has all sorts of crazy stuff going on, from the static footer to the semi-transparent images it's unique. I think there is definitely some areas of this website where users could get lost or not know what to do. Is it possible there's too much going on with...
