I found this site to be really fun and interesting to look through top to bottom. I enjoyed the friendly, succinct copy that lead me through the site with things like “fancy-pants designer”. You can tell this truly is Mike’s playground and he’s having fun using skills like jquery and *responsive coding and the eclectic design makes me feel like I really am in his brain space. I questioned the placement of the blog as odd at first on the single page layout but it seems to fit in there okay with the quick toolbar nav.

*might want to check the spacing on ‘instamattic’ and ‘in my ears’ – I thought you were making up new words!

Brutalism: The Beauty of Breaking the Rules

Brutalism in web design rejects perfection for authenticity. Stark grids, raw type, and honest structure create interfaces that feel human, intentional, and impossible to ignore. Break the rules, on purpose.
