Great podcast, guys. Really good stuff.

I love the design of culinaryculture.com. It is well thought out, especially with regard to user experience. I find it incredible easy to use. I especially like the layout of the Recipe detail page.

The Paravel site is really solid. Like you, I appreciate the extra time they’ve taken to create a home-page-like experience on every page throughout the site. There is visual impact on all pages, which is something that doesn’t always happen when you apply a standard sub-page design to all pages but your home page. I also really enjoy the content and layout of the Work case studies.

The Flourish site is a little theme-y, but I think it’s done well. I really like the footer with its icons and seed package. The content has also left me with a positive impact. I like the way they’ve approached discussing what they do: usability, aestetics, visibility, flexibility. It emphasizes the equal importance of each element of the process, which often isn’t done successfully.

The Mutant Labs site is just okay for me. It isn’t that I don’t think it; it just didn’t impact me like the others. That may be because, typically, I don’t enjoy darker designs, and I tend to prefer much more content for users and search engines alike.

Cool, i’m glad you enjoyed that. I too am in love with sites that just pour on the detail like these sites do. That’s a trend I’d like to see more of.

Thanks so much for your review of our site! It’s a real privilege to be mentioned alongside these other beautifully designed sites.

In response to your comment about our aesthetic being borderline “gaudy”… I couldn’t agree more! So many sites have an ultra-subdued color scheme and what I would call a demure personality, and while that may accurately reflect their brands, that’s not us. We are, after all, from Florida, where it’s almost always bright and sunny, and things are known for being a little over the top. We get almost all of our business through our site, and one of the things our clients consistently mention to us is that they like how friendly and colorful our site is while maintaining a professional tone. I really agree with Gene’s point about needing to create a memorable experience, and I hope that’s what we’ve managed to do.

Thanks again for your great review gentlemen.
