Thought this post would sum it up well: http://blog.dpivision.com/2009/05/introducing-tradingeye-v6-e-commerce-for-everyone/

From the post: “The reboot of the award-winning software brings many new user-requested features, such as language packs, an Ebay feed, a new zone-based postage system, many extra shipping promotions, and both Google and Yahoo XML site maps for search engine submissions.”

This is a straightforward product website for an e-commerce solution. Tradingeye was at one point an advertiser on UMS but this site deserves a review on it’s own merit. This simple and clean layout is really nice, I like the dark feel in the top section of the website. The product selection/buy page is clean and succinct. One thing that confuses me a little is the “support credits” that’s a little confusing when i’m on that particular page, that’s not really design but content, however it’s still important to the overall experience of the website. The showcase page is one of the best parts of this site, I really like the layout of this page and the large testimonial at the top of the showcase list is really nice.

The one thing that is the most interesting is the logo in the top left, it’s not your standard product logo but it’s slightly off-beat and a little funny. Seeing ‘I “heart” Tradingeye’ where I expected to see a typical product logo made me second guess this company and it gives a nice human touch the whole endeavor.

    Hi Gene,

Thank you so much for the review. Our designer Ian is over the moon.

We’ve also sorted out the issue with the ‘support credits’ not being to clear so hopefully this is ok now.

    Thank for all your feedback.

    Kind Regards,

    Wladimir

Constructive critism for reviewer. Extreme over use of the phrase “you know” throughout and over use of the bland adjective “nice” aside from that some very astute and useful observations about the design, layout and content. So in other words Content of review excellent, delivery of review needs work. Keep at it though, practise makes perfect eh! 😉

@Dave – thanks for the observations of my review, seriously thanks for watching it and letting me know how it went over. It’s hard work doing this stuff and we do it out of love of design so to get some constructive feedback is really awesome.

back @ Gene – your welcome and I am delighted at last for someone to receive my constructive criticism so graciously, jeez who have i been interacting with recently ;), looking at the rest of the site and the sites you are reviewing you really have a great site going here. I think if you are like me you know exactly how you feel about the designs but sometimes have issues articulating, I expect it is even harder if you are doing reviews in a high volume, but like i said keep it up and if it helps, your review is still better than I could do!

Although the software may be OK the level of after sales customer support is severly lacking.
