I like the imagery/shapes in the background on the home page and the header type design on the sub pages. It’s a nice unique looking design. The dark rich colors also add to setting a nice visual tone for the website as well. There are a few little details on this website design that I really like, like the 3D looking element that’s used beside each blog post page to link up facebook & twitter. I also like how the footer is slightly different & simplified for the sub pages.

Looks like this site was built using the starkers theme as a base, that’s pretty cool Elliot Jay Stocks’ basic wordpress theme is pretty useful. It’s also nice to see a site using more than just the HTML5 doctype.

Brutalism: The Beauty of Breaking the Rules

Brutalism in web design rejects perfection for authenticity. Stark grids, raw type, and honest structure create interfaces that feel human, intentional, and impossible to ignore. Break the rules, on purpose.

Monochrome Minimalism merges Bauhaus discipline with IKEA simplicity. Clean grids, muted tones, and functional beauty create digital calm, proof that restraint, not decoration, defines timeless design.
