El Designo is a environmentally conscious design studio located in Edmonton, Alberta Canada. We use our wrestling skills to protect the environment, battling papers that lead to deforestation, inks that lead to pollution and printing techniques that create waste.

Our design training facility is located deep underground. Here we train our design wrestlers to think differently about graphic design. We offer eco-options in print design and packaging design, as well as products and promotions.

El Designo – using design skills for the greater good

I love these illustrations, awesome stuff! The line and texture worked into this design is inspiring. The colors have a really nice feel as well. The sub pages kind of fall short of expectation after seeing those great illustrations, I just feel like something more could have been done, but then again, the illustrations really power the site’s appeal so doing more could be distracting from it – depends on the designer’s intent I guess. Overall I do love this website, i’ll be referring back to it in the future for sure when it comes to these illustrations.

Weird concept. Isn’t all web development environmentally friendly? I’m a fan of environmentalism for the purposes of saving earth, not making money.

I like the illustrations. Color scheme is a bit dated.

In response to the comment by Gavan – we use web hosting that is wind powered and 100% carbon neutral.

As for your other comment – people are doing quite well in trying to save the earth – businesses are not.

We as designers control a huge amount of resources – by directing businesses to use the proper resources – or less resources. El Designo helping to save the earth by educating one business at a time, and changing their habits of pollution and waste.

You can read more about our direction under the green design link – that should clear up any other questions you might have.

    Regards,
