dansormazcom

Dansormaz.com is nicely designed site with an extremely clean minimalist style. The stark, almost european, design sensibility underpins a well structured modular grid that doesn’t overemphasize vertical lines like many column grid sites do. In addition to a being an example for how to successfully translate print trends to the web, dansormaz.com is a great example of the power of a single page site. The site is really just a small portfolio; its only seven projects, but the way that those projects are integrated into the sites aesthetic, in my opinion, gives the design a sophistication and maturity that is often lacking in interactive design. Consistency in titles and descriptions is balanced nicely against strong structural difference in the images used to present each project. Even the light box is customized and stripped down to better fit the tone and design sensibilities.

One little caveat is typography. The site heavily uses image replacement for headlines, which seems a bit dated considering the myriad possibilities for font delivery. But you never know, that particular font might not be licensed yet 😉
