One of the Cornerstone projects of the International Year of Astronomy 2009, the Cosmic Dairy is not just about astrono my, but more what it is like to be an astronomer. The Cosmic Diary is a collection of blogs which aims to put a human face on astronomy. Professional scientists blog in text and images about their lives, families, friends, hobbies and interests, as well as their work, latest research findings, and the challenges that face them. The Cosmic Diary has already made waves in the scientific community. NASA, ESA, ESO and JAXA have all requested sub-blogs, where their astronomers can keep diaries in the Cosmic Diary style.

Overall this is a pretty simple site design. It’s a straight up blog, standard issue. But they’ve taken the header section and added some fun to it with the javascript (jQuery) effects.
