We really like the new design of history.com, Jay and I did a screen cast review of it. The image slider on the home page is nicely done, has plenty of eye candy to get you into the story that’s featured. The “this day in history” block is a nice touch too. We particularly loved the search return page the most. It really has some nicely designed features. We felt that mostly the sub pages begin to look too similar as you use the site with any depth but that overall we liked the work that has been done on it.
Brutalism: The Beauty of Breaking the Rules
Brutalism in web design rejects perfection for authenticity. Stark grids, raw type, and honest structure create interfaces that feel human, intentional, and impossible to ignore. Break the rules, on purpose.
