Zootool.com creator Bastian Allgeier (@bastianallgeier & @zootool) is someone who I think we can all learn from. He’s genuinely excited about his product and carefully works to extend it every day. He’s really into it and it shows. I know I was excited to get back to working on my own projects that day after talking with him. The lesson? Don’t lose that excitement, it’s what keeps things interesting.
We discussed the origins of Zootool, how he started it as a student project and how it’s grown from there. Bastian’s struggles to get the word out about his product are much the same as what we all face. Bastian is truly excited for Zootoo’s users and one way he interacts with them is through Get Satisfaction, he uses that to collect feedback and feature requests for the product.
Outside of integrating Zootool with networking apps like Twitter and Facebook, etc… what really piqued my interest (and where I first noticed the app) was when he did some linking to Pattern Tap from within Zootool. That’s very interesting and I think deeper integration with more design specific apps like this can really make Zootool an exciting tool to use. I know i’m looking forward to watch what comes next for Zootool and after talking with Bastian, I now consider myself a fan.
This Bastian Allgeier is actually a very nice guy!!
