CSSOff Update #2

cssoff

We thought it would be good to post a quick update on how things are going with CSSOff. Last week we told you that we received 416 entries. We’re excited and we’re digging into judging with earnest. The judging is taking place in two rounds, we’re doing this to make sure we are as fair and as thorough as possible given the amount of entries there is to go through. Each judge will be reviewing each submission, which results in a ton of work.

We can’t predict exactly when we’ll have the final 25 ready for announcement, our goal is to get the judging complete in the next 30 – 60 days. But future updates will keep you filled in as we go along.

One other thing to note, is that we have a plan to get every single person who submitted an entry feedback. You will in the very least get your score back, broken down into the 10 different metrics with any judging notes that get left along the way. That’s why you entered – to get feedback and we want to honor that as much as possible and also get the judging done sometime this year. *whew*

T-Shirt

On a final note, we’re taking the order form down on the CSSOff T-shirt today and getting them printed next week. So if you want one and haven’t reserved it yet, get one today.

Thanks for the update, 416 entries is a load of work for each judge (I bet they didn’t know what they were getting into!).

Looking forward to more updates and, ultimately, the results!

I was just wondering… when you say each judge will be reviewing each submission, do you mean that they’re each going through the entire checklist? Or is it that because there are 10 judges that the sections are doled out to each judge?

    Just curious, really.

Thanks again for an awesome competition. Had lots of fun doing it!

Hey Rémy, it’s different for different judges, can’t really get into the specific details this soon. Every submission will be carefully reviewed by each judge though.

We’ll get one out this week. We had Thanksgiving Holiday here last week which made us miss a bunch of stuff. Or enjoyed a bunch of stuff, depending how you look at it. 🙂
