teacakedesign.com

I really enjoy teacakedesign.com because, while the layout and design present the work beautifully, the main thrust of the design revolves around making it easy for a visitor to navigate through the work. On teacakedesign.com, I enjoyed the ability to move through the work with the keyboard. I like to browse design portfolios and key commands made it easier to move from project to project. In addition to moving easily through the work with my keyboard, scrolling has been subtly altered so that any scroll of the mouse wheel moves the page to the next project and presents it in the best location. It keeps projects from being ‘cut off’ by the top of the page.

Teacake is very simple in design. Its essentially an empty page with big images, but the attention to controlling interaction and presentation is very  nice.

Brutalism: The Beauty of Breaking the Rules
