Marielaurent.fr is a playful site with as strong sensibility toward stark lines and images. Unlike many portfolio sites, which are minimal and simple so as not to overshadow the portfolio pieces, the design and interactive elements of marielaurent.fr are definitely an integral part of Mariel’s self-promotion. Its a really nice site with just a few technical quirks (thats a lot of cufon!).
Understanding Accessible Website Design And UX: Creating Inclusive Digital Experiences
Accessible website design is essential for ensuring equal online access for individuals with disabilities. By following W3C’s POUR principles, designers can create inclusive, user-friendly websites that work across devices and assistive technologies.
I’m pretty amazed at how well this site works. This is an example of something that has only been possible in the last couple of years without Flash. On the other hand, some of the things that are endemic with Flash (loaders, poor font rendering) seem to have joined the party, too. Gio pointed out the use of Cufon, which is something that always confuses me. There are so many options these days in regards to great fonts that can be used with @font-face, there’s just no excuse to use Cufon.
