insidethebuggy.com makes me wonder. Its experimental nature is in stark counterpoint to its content.

insidethebuggy.com is about the Mennonites, both past and present, and has a strange stream-of-consciousness quality that I find intriguing. The approach to responsive design is fluid and modular and employs a layered, almost crystallographic image-plane that doesn’t strongly emphasize any specific content over another , yet clearly distinguishing between them. The site is obviously in development (as is evidenced by the “oversize!” content box at the bottom of the home-page) and has a somewhat unfinished quality that is part “experimental design” and part “ain’t done”.

Its an interesting mix of  vintage photography, procedural gradients and saturated color, a hard aesthetic to balance, but entirely rich and varied.
