Hi,
Thanks for reviewing our site. It is indeed brand new, which is why the comments facility hasn’t yet been utilised.
I agree that users may need a little guidance on what to add in here. We are planning to add a star rating facility which should help to guide users in the intention of the comments field. We are also considering some additional instructions. I reckon once our Autumn season of work is up and running this will become much clearer.
The homepage is a mixture of things on sale and entries from our feeds (Twitter, YouTube, Flickr and Blogger).
The intention is to invite users into lots of aspects of our work. We know that certain folk (perhaps older, less tech savvy users) may avoid a blog or Flickr link, but when presented with an interesting headline or great image on the homepage, they may start to get it and as a result delve deeper into our work.
This should, over time, become a nice interactive section where people may simply browse the latest news, videos etc. It also means that we can keep the homepage active and busy even when we’re getting to the end of a season and there’s not so much on sale.
Thanks again for the review and the compliments!
Helen
Glad you appreciated our comments, it’s a great site!
I was curious of the home page twitter and other RSS like posted items, thanks for clearing that up for me. I really think pushing the envelope a bit is always needed and I’ll give you some due credit for doing that! Great site indeed.
