This design sports some huge background images that the main body copy and content area elements are laid on top of. This is a cool effect on most of the main pages of this site, but I think it gets a bit distracting on the more interior pages, specifically those that begin to have interaction on them or lots of content. Overall though, this site has some really well done typography and photography, it’s really deep with content and helpful info. Great site.
Fitts’s Law: Why the Easy Button Wins
Large, close targets are faster to hit than small, distant ones, that’s Fitts’s Law. A look at the 1954 rule behind buttons, prime and magic pixels, thumb zones, and dark patterns.
I only have one comment, and that’s on the background. The shadow of the cow implicates that the sun is from behind the viewer, while the shadows from the chimney’s on the barn implicate that the sun comes from the right back. I dont know if someone has seen it just like I did, but it’s just a small flaw in the overal design 😛
