Checking in again with Jonathan LeBlanc @jcleblanc of Yahoo Developer Network. We discussed some recent updates on YQL, getting personal URLs and cache control. The new YUI gallery on github, where everyone can contribute to the YUI goodness. BrowserPlus and Traffic Server.
Traffic Server is fast, scalable and extensible HTTP/1.1 compliant caching proxy server. Formerly a commercial product (created by Inktomi, later acquired by Yahoo!), it is now being developed as an Apache Incubator Project.
Honestly to me Traffic Server seems like a pretty cool thing for Yahoo to open source. Releasing what powers your main money maker is a bold move.
I had to ask him about the rumors (as of that morning) surrounding the demise of MyBlogLog. He hadn’t heard much really but things were developing as of that afternoon and opinions aside, looks like things could come or go as far as MyBlogLog is concerned.
Jonathan gave us a quick spring schedule of their University Hack Program.
- Feb 22-26 University of Washington
- March 8-12 Georgia Tech
- March 22-26 UT Austin
- April 2-6 UCSD

Also, right after we finished our podcast Chris Yeh (head of YDN) posted some information about MyBlogLog that may be interesting to those of you who are into it: http://developer.yahoo.net/blog/archives/2009/12/mybloglog_update.html
Thanks again to Jonathan! Look forward to our next update.
