I always like designs that pull in real world items that look like you can touch them.  This site does that in a way that’s not quite as literal as others i’ve seen.  The background give it a nice organic texture and the navigation is quite unique.

    I don’t know, it’s similar, definitely inspired-by, but calling it a “copy” is probably unfair.

    I’d written a fairly extensive post along the lines of “everyone takes inspiration from other people’s work” and “genius steals etc”, but no. That is a blatant copy. I’m surprised to see this here, seeing as how the original has already been featured on the site and is so memorable for it’s sheer brilliance. But I guess, if your gonna copy, copy the best.
