Vest

http://www.vestmed.com/

Vest provides a really nice loading experience, considering it is a site that transfers 1.4MB when loaded. The main view loads a simple graphic and then loads in the heavier images whenever they are a available. The effect is something like a load screen that doesn’t feel like a load screen. I noticed that when the simple graphic loaded, I had a tendency to wait a few seconds before trying to scroll the page. I loaded the page a few times before trying to scroll immediately upon loading the page and was pleasantly surprised to find that the ‘lazy’ way that the header and background are loaded doesn’t break anything. The content is loaded straight away. Paired with a very clean and straightforward design, the site makes a great impression.
