nprorg

The new NPR website, found via @lprill.

The new NPR site shares a lot in common with some of the new(ish) types of blog themes i’ve seen. Like most websites of this size it has a tremendous amount of content to contend with and it seems to pull off good organization despite that fact. I really like how they are putting strong focus on the podcasts (something I think is one of the best things NPR has going right now.) The drop down (or I should say slide down) navigation is something I haven’t seen before. I’m torn on if I like these “mega” style drop downs sliding the pages content down or having it overlapped like normal. All in all this is a pretty good redesign, that improves upon the older site greatly. One very cool thing to part with, if you’ve missed it is the walk through video they put together.
