Terms

  • CSSOff is intended to be a contest that is conducted with good natured fun in mind. We have prizes to keep the contest interesting, but the end goal is NOT to just hand out prizes. CSSOff is intended as a community driven event that we can all have fun and learn from one another with. If you do not agree to this basic framework then do not enter CSSOff.
  • UnmatchedStyle, CSS-Tricks, Codepen & SimpleFocus reserve the right to refuse awarding of prizes at our discretion. If you are in a country or US State that prohibits us from sending you one of the prizes we will not send you the prize - it is up to our discretion about not sending a prize to certain destinations.
  • If your employer has rules that prohibit you from entering this contest it's up to you to figure that out. We are not responsible for anything arising from you entering this contest.
  • Judging
    Your entries will be judged by the judges listed on this website. They will use the criteria outlined in the rules section of this website. The judges determine the rankings of each category to build a total score on a rating of 0 to 100.
  • Entering
    Anyone can enter as long as they meet these requirements:
    1. You are at least 18 years of age. If you are not 18 years you must submit a written statement from your parent or legal guardian to us.
    2. You cannot enter if you are related to or are employed by any of the judges.
    3. You cannot enter if you are a resident of Cuba, Iran, North Korea, Sudan, or Syria. These are limited by US export legal regulations.
  • Entries
    To have your entry judged it must meet these minimum requirements:
    1. Your entry must attempt to match the target design as much as possible. (other site designs coded will be disqualified and deleted.)
    2. Your entry must be created using HTML & CSS
    3. Your entry must be delivered as a "pen" via codepen.io
    4. Your entry must be your own original work/code and not infringe on the rights of anyone else's entry or code.
    5. You must agree to have your entry released under the Creative Commons license under your name.
  • We reserve the right to reject any submission outright for violation of any of the above terms.
    If you do not agree to these terms and the rules listed on the rules page, then do not enter this contest.
    We reserve the right to change these terms at any point, however if we do we will notify you of the change(s).

CSSOFF is a community event. For the last few years UnmatchedStyle.com has carried the torch. Lest we not forget, in years past, Chris Coyier and JD Graffam have hosted this most excellent of competitions.
