I started listening to your podcast 15 minutes ago, I want to start by saying I think it’s a great initiative, I enjoy listening to podcasts anything that can bring the design community together to exchange and discuss rather than only read and “like”. So that’s nice and I’l glad you guys did that.
Never the less I think there are things that could be improved in your podcast, this is just my opinion, take it or leave it :
You talk a lot about yourselves.
I’m sure you have a lot of interesting things to say, about your daily work, life choices, careers and all that, but the first 15 minutes just sound like a private discussion to me, it’s unclear what you’re really talking about, what the topic is and where it comes from, it feels unstructured and hard to follow, and I quickly started to read web pages until I realized I wasn’t really listening anymore.
I’d like to know what it’s about before I start listening.
At first I thought the topic of the whole show was about how to estimate. Because I just “scanned” the description, saw that and figured it must be it. Looks like it’s not, even looks like the description doesn’t actually says what you’ll talk about, but who asked. Which is nice, but I’m not sure that’s enough. It’s 1 hour long, people are busy, on the go, at work, you publish that on monday morning… To me the “right” way would be the opposite, be clear about what you talk about and when so I can skip if there’s just 1 part I want to listen to now… As it is for now, I don’t even know if I want to hear about anything you’ll talk about.
You give more details about the FWIW section than the actual “meat” of the podcast. Maybe re-think that, consider who will listen to that and when.
Anyway, keep it up guys, looking forward for the next episode 🙂

Thanks for that great critique HammHetfield, much appreciated. You’re probably right on a lot of that stuff, generally we’re just having fun with it so we’ll see how it all evolves over time. Hopefully you’ll stick around now that you know what we’re up to.

Just discovered this website and absolutely in love with it. I have been catching up with the podcasts and am glad i’ve found you. This is the type of stuff I want to be listening to, so great stuff!!
I have to agree with HammHetfield though. A simple list of all topics discussed would make this series 100 times better! Perhaps in bullet points so clear and concise.
Anyway keep up the good work!!!
