ConfNotice #8

ConfNotice

Note: UMS is teaming up with ConfNotice to syndicate their emails to help spread the word about great conferences. (It’s starting at #8 because they’ve released 8 issues of their email already 🙂

Big news this week, lots of conferences looking for people just like you to speak and attend! Just a reminder, we are trying to publish a ConfNotice regularly, meaning you will be receiving a short list of the upcoming web-focused events going on around the world. We will be highlighting call for speakers, ticket sale dates, and a quick summary of the event. Ideally, you submit to speak, register to attend, or follow the conference updates. We are super excited about this and hope it is quite helpful to you – we know we hate missing out on great events. Please email us about any feedback you might have or any other awesome pieces you would like to say as part of ConfNotice.

Please follow us on Twitter at @confnotice or dialog with us on Google+. If you organize or know of an event upcoming, especially ones with an open call for speakers – please reach out to us by replying to this email. We are happy to help you promote the event.

Call For Speakers

FluentConf – San Francisco, CA – May 28 to May 30, 2013

Link: http://fluentconf.com/fluent2013

The O'Reilly Fluent Conference is where the Web technology, JavaScript, and HTML5 communities gather to master progressive web development—everything from the technical aspects of Node.js, ECMAScript specs, and CoffeeScript to practical front end issues involving Backbone.js, CSS3, browser APIs, as well as gaming and data visualization leaning on Canvas and WebGL. Deadline for proposals to speak is December 10th, 2012 so if you are doing anything amazing on or near the web, you should submit at talk!

JSConf US 2013 – Amelia Island, FL – May 29 to May 31, 2013

Link: http://2013.jsconf.us/
Disclaimer: I co-organize with my family JSConf US. JSConf is a different type of technical event, focusing on constantly experimenting with what it means to be a "technical event". 2013 will be the fifth year for the event and offers the opportunity to reinvent a lot of the core principles of the event. The team has put a lot of effort already into describing how the event will be even more open, inclusive, and different. Everything from the ticket process to the call for speakers has changed, but the heart and soul of the event — and its focus on all form of JS — remain the same. The open call for speakers process closes November 30th, so please help spread the word to anyone you know who might be perfect for JSConf.

Upcoming Conferences

All Your Base Conf – Oxford, United Kingdom – Nov. 23

Data unifies all web developers. The choice of databases has substantially improved over the past 5 years to include noSQL, MySQL Forks, Cloud hosted solutions and other related technologies. But… how do you decide which one to use? There are pros and cons to every system, but do you really know which one offers the best solution? This is just one of the many questions we hope to  answer at an engaging, action-packed day in the vibrant city of Oxford.. Also there two full days of workshops before this event that can help you becoming legendary at Neo4j and MongoDB.

JSConf US 2013 – Amelia Island, FL – May 29 to May 31, 2013

Link:http://2013.jsconf.us/
Why is JSConf here twice? Well ConfNotice started out, among many reasons, as the mailing list that people wanted to know when JSConf tickets went on sale and we opened up to all events for similar reasons. We wanted to quickly make notice that the tickes for JSConf US 2013 will go on sale starting December 3rd at 12:00PM EST. For more details, see the link below. Thanks and sorry for the doubling up.

When building and maintaining a successful business, it's critical to create employee engagement, empowerment, and high morale. Your team is your best asset, getting things done and creating raving fans in the community. Sure, having a ping-pong table, white-board walls, and a game system are fun; but including a smart office design with a clear set of values and norms that actively guide the way a company operates, can create and build a strong, flourishing company culture. From new startups founders to existing company team members, anyone will learn how to create and cultivate an incredible company culture at this half-day summit.

Thank you for joining us on ConfNotice, help spread the word so that everyone can know about awesome new events. We are doing this as volunteers and out of a general love for awesome community events, so anything you can do to help is greatly appreciated!

Thanks,

The ConfNotice Team

Why isn’t my event listed?
We are trying to limit the number of events per week to roughly 6 (3 call for speakers and 3 with tickets still available). If your event is already sold out and the call for speakers has closed, it will not be featured on ConfNotice at this time. If you want us to queue it for future occurrences, please email use immediately and we will be sure to have it published in time for the next event. If you have any questions, please contact us directly.
